Club Rules and
Regulations
Please make sure
that all members of your family know these rules
The principle aim of our club is
to foster a safe and efficient program of aquatic activities for our
members. We are sure that you are concerned with the safety of your
children and wish to ensure that they can enjoy club activities without
being abusive or abused by others. It is for that reason; the following
rules have been laid down so that all members of the club know the
limitations as well as the privileges of the club.
The rules may be amended at any
time by the club board and the amendments will be posted at the club.
The Board and staff will strictly enforce the rules.
- Children under 12 years old
must be accompanied by a responsible baby sitter at least 12 years of
age.
- NO abusive language.
- Anyone not involved in a
paddling lesson is not to be on the paddling dock. There is a lot of
congestion already and extra bodies are not necessary.
- All bicycles must be parked
in the rack provided. Bikes must be walked on the property.
- No running or pushing on the
docks
- Boats are not to be capsized
intentionally.
- The swim docks enclose the
only supervised swimming area.
- On the blast of the whistle,
all swimmers are to clear the water.
- Do not talk to the lifeguard
on duty.
- Swimmers are not to impede
progress of boats
- All garbage must be picked
up.
- No fishing on property or
from boats
The use of alcohol or illegal
drugs on club property is an offence and punishable under the Provincial
Statutes and enforced by the Halifax Regional Municipality Police.
**Offenders of the above
rules and regulations will be reported to the Manager and may be asked
to leave the property and referred to the Discipline Committee.
- Dogs are not permitted
on the club property
This is enforced by a Halifax
Regional Municipality ordinance under the Department of Parks and
Recreation.
This is a reminder to Abenaki
Members to PLEASE obey the NO PARKING signs that are on Swanton Drive.
In the past these have often been ignored and residents are unable to
exit their own driveways. It is also important that crosswalk users be
able to see oncoming traffic.
- Abenaki is a Smoke Free
Facility
